Mr. Hick's CTE students and Ms. Hickoks Art students designed their dream homes last semester. The students created scaled floor plans on paper in Ms. Hickok's art class and then converted their ideas into a digital format in Mr. Higgs' class using Sketch-Up. This constitutes many of the WRMS 7th graders first experience with Computer Aided Design. The students did a good job on their designs. The process that Mr. Higgs and Ms. Hickok facillitated represents an excellent example of the essential 21st Century skill of using technology to transition ideas from one's head and into the real world. The WRMS STEM teacher team participated in a workshop with DMHS Drafting/Technology teacher, Mr. Matt Hill. 7th Grade students in Mr. Higgs and Ms. Hickoks classes will be designing their dream homes using Sketch-Up in the coming weeks. Thanks to Mr. Hill for providing the team with this service!
